Grand Central Market
A large open-air market offering fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, gift shops, snacks and restaurants. Open every day.

Pershing Square
A "park" near the Jewelry District, consisting of a plaza area, a fountain, benches and artwork displays. Pershing Square is the location for shows, concerts, ice skating in the winter and other events. However when nothing is scheduled, the park is not really a tourist attraction on its own. There is a public parking structure, as well as a Metro train station under the park.

Los Angeles Central Library
Books, computers, photos, posters, maps, etc, available for public viewing. Free docent tours are given daily (see below). Open Tues-Sat 10AM to 5:30PM. Open until 8PM on Tuesday and Thursday.

L.A. Jewelry District
Here you will find a large concentration of jewelry outlets along Hill Street between 6th and 7th Streets. Some are large plazas containing hundreds of stores inside. (There is a list of some plazas on the Downtown L.A. Shopping page)

Angel's Flight Railway
At just under the length of a football field, it is billed as the "The Shortest Railway in the World" and takes passengers up the hill from Grand Central Market to California Plaza (from 351 South Hill Street at the bottom, to 350 South Grand Avenue at the top). It is adjacent to Angel's Knoll Park.

Angel's Knoll Park
[CLOSED] - A small park on Bunker Hill, overlooking a section of downtown. It was used as a setting in the movie, "(500) Days of Summer." There is an entrance to the top of the park on Olive Street at 4th Street, and another entrance to the bottom next to the Angel's Flight Railway on Hill Street.
